The Orchid Safety Release Valve (SRV) is a sterile, single patient use, tension activated device, placed between the already-existing extension set and administration tubing connection. It is an IV disposable device designed to mitigate tension events on IV tubing by separating under tension and creating a sterile barrier, removing the need for restocks or loss of care. The Orchid SRV is indicated for ages 2 weeks and up and is intended to be used during delivery of fluid to and from a vascular access device and can be used for intermittent and continuous infusion.
