The HearPlay iPad app, developed by Children's Mercy Kansas City, provides audiologists an engaging tool to assess hearing of young children and or patients with developmental delays. Speech awareness test (SAT); Speech reception threshold (SRT); and Conditioned play audiometry (CPA) games are presented to the patient through an iOS app and controlled by the audiologist through a bluetooth connected device. This allows gamification of the tests and the ability for the audiologist to control the pace and form of the game and administration of rewards. This app is used as an alternative to current toy and paper methods for speech recognition and conditioned play, resulting in more accurate and efficient hearing assessments and kids looking forward to getting into the hearing booth! The HearPlay can be purchased in the iPad App store and can be utilized on multiple devices using the same account.
