AdaptX was born out of a simple query: “Did giving our patients Tylenol before surgery actually improve their pain experience?” In 2016, our co-founder, Dr. Dan Low, posed this question to his hospital’s nationally-recognized analytics team.  Although the analytics team had invested heavily in their health system's successful EMR rollout, they couldn't leverage that investment to provide timely, actionable analyses for hundreds of C-Suite leaders, service line chiefs, and frontline clinicians. 

Dr. Low wondered: “If it’s this painful to figure out Tylenol, how can we possibly manage the truly ‘hard’ things that determine our team’s success or failure?”

If leaders struggle to tell real-world “improvement” from mere “change,” then “transformation” becomes just another buzzword. At leading health systems, clinicians, administrators, and executives lack actionable insights into clinical variation across facilities, providers, treatments, and workflows. In real-world healthcare,
superuser-intensive approaches to data are unscalable, so management of complex clinical operations relies on anecdote and intuition.
