Augment Therapy was founded by a Pediatric Physical Therapist on a simple but powerful belief: movement should be fun, accessible, and engaging for everyone, regardless of age or ability. Augment Therapy created ARWell PRO to make that belief a reality.
ARWell PRO is a therapeutic exergaming app that uses the camera in a phone, tablet or computer to make a patient's body the game controller in an augmented reality environment -- increasing patient engagement and providing valuable real-time feedback, while at the same time making practitioners' lives easier through automated data collection.
ARWell PRO also includes built-in data summaries, the option to create personalized home programs, and an embedded telehealth feature. We don't use wearables or handheld controllers, and accessibility features include patient-specific settings for step height and for controlling the game using only weight shift or lean (for our users with mobility devices). We are making movement fun!
Across pediatric, adult, and aging populations, traditional therapy and exercise programs often struggle with adherence due to limited engagement, accessibility barriers, or lack of continuity outside clinical care.
To address this, Augment Therapy created immersive, game‑based movement experiences that combine evidence‑informed therapeutic principles with augmented reality and full‑body skeletal tracking—without the need for wearables. Our proprietary technology allows users to control experiences using their own movement, making participation intuitive and inclusive for individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities.
Today, Augment Therapy offers two complementary products. ARWell PRO is designed for healthcare practitioners and is a full app with over 60 therapeutic tasks. It is a therapy tool designed for use in-person, hybrid, home or telehealth care, and it includes automated data collection and session summaries.
ARWell is a direct-to-consumer app designed with the same therapy-informed tasks to support independent wellness, movement and continued engagement at home through a subscription. This app has a smaller selection of tasks, with pre-set programs for common wellness goals (like balance, endurance, and strengthening).
ARWell PRO and ARWell together create a seamless continuum from clinical care to lifelong wellness.
