The Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) celebrated the launch of their PedsMrkt storefront in June, debuting with four innovative product offerings. “We’re incredibly excited to join the PedsMrkt community, where every connection has the potential to transform children’s lives. At CHOC, our storefront isn’t just a space—it’s a gateway to innovation and an opportunity to unite families and healthcare professionals in new, meaningful ways. We believe the future of pediatric care lies in creativity and collaboration, and this partnership empowers us to continue building brighter futures for the kids we serve,” shared Tiffani Ghere, Manager of the Sharon Disney Lund Medical Intelligence, Information, Investigation, and Innovation Institute (MI4) at CHOC.
Sharief Taraman, MD, co-creator of Move-D, one of the products featured on CHOC’s storefront, added, “We’re proud to showcase the solutions created on our campus and to learn from other children’s hospitals. It’s thrilling to be part of this collective effort. When we received our first order from the site, the excitement among our team was palpable.”
Looking ahead, the CHOC team is eager to expand their product offerings, explore solutions from fellow member hospitals, collaborate with sponsor organizations, and actively contribute to the iSPI XR Workgroup, which they lead. They are also excited to participate in the ongoing discussions within the new PedsMrkt Community.

The day will consist of pitch presentations by companies with pediatric products, up-and-coming pediatric technologies being developed at Georgia Tech, panel discussions, GA Bio networking lunch, and GA Bio networking reception. The event will be held as a part of the GA Bio Life Sciences Summit.

Getting to Know the Pediatric Innovation Community
What is CTIP?
The Consortium for Technology & Innovation in Pediatrics (CTIP) is a pediatric medical device accelerator established in 2011 and based at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and Children's Hospital Los Angeles. CTIP promotes the commercialization and clinical use of pediatric medical device technology. CTIP has since received PDC awards in 2018 and again in 2023 to continue research and development of MedTech for children.
How is CTIP driving pediatric innovation?
CTIP addresses the most important component missing from pediatric device innovation: simultaneously engaging clinicians, engineers, regulators, hospital administrators, patients and the business community in the process of assessment and development of technology. For portfolio companies, CTIP fosters networking opportunities, direct and indirect financial support and guidance on issues related to, but not limited to, intellectual property, prototyping, engineering, testing, grant writing and clinical trial design.
What are the key focus areas CTIP prioritizes?
CTIP aims to sustain a needs-driven pipeline of new pediatric medical devices and to develop successful models to increase the likelihood of commercializing these medical devices for children.
CTIP provides feasibility analysis tools, resources, and services as well as assembles and educates pediatric product development teams. CTIP is dedicated to promoting and advancing the commercialization of pediatric medical devices by serving innovators and companies and by engaging clinicians, engineers, patients and the business community in the process of assessment and development of novel technologies related to pediatric care. CTIP continually seeks to build its relationships with a variety of stakeholders, such as the medical device industry, medical centers, innovators, parents, and patient advocacy groups.
How can hospitals and pediatric innovators engage with CTIP?
CTIP’s network of children’s hospitals, academic institutions, accelerators, and incubators includes 25 organizations across 8 states.
Pediatric device innovators are selected to be included in CTIP's portfolio through a three-step process:
1. Connect with CTIP through the website
2. Meet CTIP's screening requirements, and complete online application
3. Complete the intake call evaluation
